Mr. Crocker,
I have asked this of the IDNO originators without answer thus far, but is it
not true that you are one of the people that was thrown off the list? If so, how
is it that you are now so actively participating in this "dialogue"? (As is
another of those mentioned as having been thrown off.) Can you not see that only
your silence here (which appears difficult for you!) would give any credence to
your claims. Yes, it was discussed, and several of us voted down the idea and you
are here to this day.
As for documentation of group policy, please note we are electing our first
board of 21 (NOT membership of 21!!!) to lead the much larger group toward
establishing rules of operation. We were not given guidelines and "mandate" as
ICANN was. Nor were we given public funds and then wasted them away without
accomplishing anything but a congressional investigation that all US taxpayers
will be paying for, whatever side we take on the issues.
While we believe there may be a long list of things you wish to complain about
or take issue with, are any of them of any substance? Could you please mention one
of those so you can be taken seriously on at least that issue. While there are
bits of truth in some of what you say, they are not supportable toward your end
point of IDNO not being suitable to represent its constituency. I rather expect
that if anyone were removed as you make such a point about, it would have been
you, and you are still VERY HERE. If you want newcomers to believe you have been
removed, you had best stop posting to the list. Otherwise, we must all believe
that rumors of your demise are greatly exaggerated!!! (And your primary point of
contention completely not valid!!!)
Finally, since you are a guest and not a member, why does it bother you that
we would leave ourselves open to an audit, IF INDEED IT IS TRUE? If the observers
note any weakness or irregularity, we will certainly have to deal with it and bear
responsibility for it. That will be our problem, not yours. Do you raise these
same types of questions regarding the other constituencies and ICANN itself? What
is your position on the wasting of ICANN money with no result? (Other than the
congressional investigation, that is!) What is your position on ICANN "openness"
as regards individual domain name owners, not the IDNO as organizing here? (We
know what you think of IDNO, but there is a larger issue here, the rights of the
individual domain name owner.)
Please decide, either you were removed from the list or not. If not, your
points hold no water. If you were, your posting is not technically possible and
certainly not allowable. You tell us which way it is and we can go from there.

Sincerely,
Karl E. Peters
