- Mainframe Support Team Leader: In charge of software
developers and system administrators (with a wide range of
abilities) responsible for several Cray Research, Incorporated
(CRI) systems on a FDDI network.
- UNICOS Conversion Coordinator: Technical coordinator for
the massive conversion effort from NLTSS (a privately developed
OS) to UNICOS.
- Project leader: NLTSS POSIX Interface project, a project
to implement a full POSIX interface on top of a privately developed
OS
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Very experienced in design and
implementation of network and systems software in Unix (UNICOS, Sun OS,
Solaris, Linux, others). Examples:
- Designed and implemented a Production Workload Scheduling
Daemon on Meiko CS/2 MPP Supercomputer(Part of the locally
developed Distributed Production Control System).
- Helped design the Portable Batch System (NASA's replacement
for NQS), and implemented its ISODE-based communications
library.
- Designed and implemented the threads package for NLTSS (a
privately developed distributed OS) -- the package was compatible
with CRI's UNICOS.
- Ported NCSA httpd to UNICOS, added a form of Kerberos
authentication. Webmaster for a classified web site on the local
intranet.
- Install, configure, and maintain firewalls and other network
infrastructure that connects a large, highly secure classified
site to other similar sites throughout the US via encrypted
internet links. Very involved in computer and network security at
a classified research facility (DOE "Q" Clearance), including
maintaining a Digital Signature/Encryption infrastructure.
- Maintain a DNS root zone and address registry on this large
US-wide private network.
INTERNET: I have been very involved with the IETF,
ISOC, and other Internet management entities for some years, and have
been and continue to be an active participant in various Internet
standards activities.
