Looking for a trip ...

Howdy -

Well, I might as well post a request though I'm only one of many. I'd love
to join any GC trip that needs folks after mid-October. I have been calling
in for cancellations (there NEVER are any), but I'd gladly go along on
someone else's permit too (duh).

My specs: I'm 33. I will be finishing my PhD dissertation in geology at
Caltech in the beginning of October. That's why I reeeelly want to escape
to the Canyon right afterwards - for some serious psychic healing. Though
in the years at grad school I have not been able to get much boating in, I
have been a commercial guide since 1981, working in Idaho (Middle/Main
Salmon, Selway), California (American, Tuolumne, Merced, Cal Salmon), and
Oregon (Rogue, Umpqua). I've done private trips also on the San Juan,
Yampa, Dolores, Salt, Green, and Colorado. I have four Canyon trips. I have
my own boat (16 foot) and associated equipment. I'm a Wilderness First
Responder, have CPR cert, and have lots of experience with river rescue.
I'm even willing to talk about geology if people are interested. I hooked
up with a Canyon trip via the internet last summer and it worked out really
well - I had a blast and they evidently liked me enough that they asked me
to join them this summer on a Salmon trip. I'm pretty nice, I think, and
relatively easy to get along with, and a very safe boater.

So, enough tooting my own horn. I'm available as of mid-October, so if
anyone wants someone along with my qualifications, give me a buzz.

Thanks, Judy
