My co-director and board of directors have given me the authority to act on
behalf of the organization with regards to ICANN-related issues.

I am authorized to vote on behalf of the organization. There will be no
other representatives from my organization participating in this constituency.

We are a nonprofit organization helping the people of less advantaged
nations take full advantage of technology.

We will run a web site, and we have email. But most important, we will be
working on issues related to Internet use and the digital divide.

Digital Bridges is an international, nonprofit, public policy organization
dedicated to providing assistance and support to traditionally
disenfranchised people and less advantaged nations, to encourage their
participation in policy-making for Internet issues, and to help them take
advantage of the Internet and other information technologies for local and
global communications and electronic commerce for the benefit of their
communities, democratic institutions and local economies. Digital Bridges
pursues this mission by:

* Focusing attention on issues and working to shape policy at the national
and international level;

* Studying the effects of the Internet and electronic commerce on economic
development, basic human rights and democracy for traditionally
disenfranchised people and less advantaged nations, and the impact of
national information technology policies on these issues;

* Researching and disseminating to the general public through online
access, papers, publications, conferences, and workshops, information about
the effects of the Internet on traditionally disenfranchised people and
less advantaged nations and the key factors in maximizing the opportunities
offered by the Internet and electronic commerce;

* Promoting the local and global use of network technologies for electronic
communications and commerce by traditionally disenfranchised peoples and
less advantaged nations;

* Promoting technology solutions that empower global users to be effective
in their electronic communications and commerce;

* Supporting grass-roots initiatives by providing liaison, legal and
technical assistance and related services to individuals and organizations
seeking to participate in Internet policy-making;

* Serving as a clearinghouse and exchange for information about the local
and global use of network technologies for electronic communications and
commerce;

* Sponsoring or co-sponsoring workshops, training sessions, and conferences
concerning the local and global use of network technologies for electronic
communications and commerce; and

* Focusing the attention of decision-makers in the development and aid
communities on the positive effects of the Internet for economic
development, democracy and human rights, in order to encourage their
adoption of sound Internet policies and their use of the Internet and other
information technologies in development and aid efforts.

Digital Bridges is not aimed at providing hardware or physical
infrastructure. Rather, we work to ensure that public and private sector
policies encourage and promote participation of traditionally
disenfranchised people and less advantaged nations in global communications
and electronic commerce. We also serve local efforts by positioning
Digital Bridges as an information link, bringing traditionally
disenfranchised people and less advantaged nations into policy discussions,
distributing information to them and helping them to achieve sound public
policy goals related to the Internet and other information technologies,
and ensuring opportunities for all voices to be heard.

No conflicts. The organization is just forming.

I have followed ICANN and have submitted comments as part of my work with
my former employer, the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

No.
