right now and hope they turn out well, but unfortunately that really must
be separate from the pressing requirements of running this community
consensus process.
My concern has to do with operational style and I think that a far more
inclusive and conciliatory management effort is needed than seems to be
developing. There are many statements of desire to be inclusive, but the
actions being taken leave one less than sanguine.
On the other hand, the metabolic rate on the net can make things look
definitive just after they started, rather than giving them time to
develop. Creation of the new mailing list is a good step. Failure to
announce it broadly is not.
sigh.
The challenge, I think, is to maintain the pressure for constructive
changes, without indulging in sour grapes, personal slams, etc.
About CIX. Well, there is a fascinating dichotomy concerning them.
Internet operations people uniformly dismiss its relevance. Washington DC
folks uniformly consider it important.
