Dear Colleagues:
SYMANTEC has discontinued producing and supporting Norton Navigator. I
have installed a new 4 g hard disk in my notebook. I want to reload Norton
Navigator. However, our set was purchased as an "upgrade". Unless it can
find one of the qualifying products, it won't install. Those products
include the following:
PC Tools 8.0
PC Tools Pro
More PC Tools
Norton Desktop for Windows 2x 3x
Norton Desktop for DOS 1.x
XtreeGold for Windows 4.0
XtreeGold DDS 3X
Xtree for Windows 2X
Norton Commander 3x-5x
PC Tools for Windows 1.0 & 2.0
We don't have any of them any more, though we used PC Tools and Xtree
extensively for many years. We don't have a clue as to which files it
looks for to determine whether we have a qualifying program installed. I
know from a prior experience after a reformatting that it takes only one
small file.
