Dear Sascha:

We had a date certain for balloting, the 5th.

We should have voted on new officers in October. Rick was rightly
concerned that Antony, Javier, Amadeu and I were still officers of PAB.

Antony promised elections but proposed that we first have a Charter.

But then Antony was off the List for several weeks and no Charter was
proposed. In this vacuum, Rick started proposing a Charter. It brought
forth a lot of controversy.

Antony then proposed the ballot on December 5th. However, right as the
vote was to be launched, Antony initiated a "straw ballot".

While I cannot speak to the issue of whether some PAB members have been
disenfranchised by the having "unsubscribed" from the PAB List. If true,
certainly it should be considered before launching the vote. However, I
think Rick has the full list of addresses in his hand and he can write to
everyone by using that set of Email addresses (as opposed to the List).

[I have just read Rick's posting in which he stated, "I intend to wait for
Bob Shaw to generate the latest list for elections. I'll need a bit of help
from Dan on the
voting set up, i hope to test it this afternoon or to marrow." That said,
I agree to follow Antony's schedule. At the same time, I strongly believe
that none of the old officers should engage in any other activity *other
than* getting the voting completed. If any other activity is intimated by
Antony, I shall do something I seldom ever do, resign in protest. This is
a special case in which my proposed resignation is in pursuit of being
*naturally voted out* of an office which I have no further right or purpose
to hold.]

Looking at this problem in the light of my knowledge that Antony
*simultaneously* launched an initiative in CORE without vetting it before
the CORE Excom leads me to believe that Antony has an overblown impression
of his role in PAB and in CORE.

Antony and I are *very, very lame duck* officers of PAB. Our only acts
should be those which get ourselves OUT OF OFFICE as quickly as possible
with no further initiatives.

Thank you for asking Sascha. It has given me the opportunity to think
through these issues more thoroughly and consolidate my belief that Antony
is overstepping his authority.

Personal regards,
BobC
