I. To fight for (and later act like a watchdog) for Individual Domain Name
Owner's -
1. Right to Exist :-
Its about Individual Domain Name Owners not having to wake up one fine date
to find their whole dream and effort of craving out a tiny individual piece
of internet existence forced down tubes because of some arbitrary decision
by some agency (NSI or ICANN or whatever).
2. Right to some Sanity and Civility :-
Its about individual domain name holders, despite exercising due care and
common sense, not having to wake up one fine day to find a notice of some
frivolous lawsuit or a attorney's letter and related expenses and trauma
staring at their faces.
3. Right to Freedom of Expression :-
Its about the right of being able to communicate our individual point of
view through medium of internet (with aid of domain names) freely with
assurance of our anonymity (if we choose to exercise it), personal and
material safety and security for ourselves and our loved ones intact and
unharmed.
4. Future Parity :-
Ensuring that the system works equally fair and on equal footing for the new
domain name holders that come on board.
(Feel free to add to it and build on it).
Essence :-
Its about giving a hope and expression in immediate future (and to protect
and safeguard at later date) to the little people of internet world - The
currently voiceless marginalized diverse individual domain name owners world
wide in the global internet spectrum of things.
How :-
Besides and in addition to what's being debated.
By joining or aligning or participating with and in any agency/forum (post
ICANN ?) - be it ICANN or NSI or ACLU or Consumer groups or USG or UN.
Including courts - not limited to these alone.
What ever it takes to ensure the goals and interests of Individual Domain
Name Owners are created, protected and safeguarded.
[ It is and should be lot more than working along with ICANN or NSI - its
about the fundamental interests of Individual Domain Name Owners and if I am
stretch it a bit - the freshness and bubbling liveliness of internet !]
In one sentence :-
With the sprit of Open Source Movement (going by the debates and comradely I
guess we have that !) and muscle of Microsoft (for lack of better example -
pls. don't blast me for blasphemy !)
