Things are rolling, now. A lot more digging. With a jackhammer. Construction of forms for new foundation concrete. Floor joists.

We are making a little progress in moving things out of the way. My office won't be remodeled, so a lot of stuff is going in there. I'm trying to clean out old papers, books and stuff to make room, but it isn't easy -- for now, chaos rule. Fortunately, mostly I work out of my briefcase, with a laptop, so I can move to the kitchen table.

The foundation for the addition is now outlined in the dirt/shale.

A lot more dirt has been removed. The slope has been dug back about 4 feet.

Pete drilled holes in the old foundation, and added rebar to join the new foundation.
