Great Idea.

I am Carl Anderson, live in Castle Valley,Utah and do most of my boating on
the Colorado River in Cataract Canyon. I've been on 9 private trips through
Grand Canyon starting in 1984 with the last one being in March of this year.
I used to work as a river guide until I injured my lower back in 1991. Now
I use what I have left only for fun. Besides the Grand trip this year, I've
been through Cataract Canyon 3 times so far this year (I really do go a
lot!) with 3 more trips lined up from now till the end of July. I'm
definitly a high water junky.

I've used boats ranging from a 7' Sportyak to a 37' "S" rig and am on the
"motors" side of that issue. What I would like is more and easier access to
boating in Grand Canyon for non-commercial trips. For my trip in March of
this year I went through the entire waiting list (8 years) to get my permit.
The other two permits I've had (1984 & 1986) were cancellations and other
trips were with friends getting cancellations.

It is interesting to get updates about what is going on and I look forward
to them.
