Beyond my summer rule of camps with early afternoon shade and late morning
sun (think East/West), I like camps where one may also hike. Other than
that you might consider:

North Canyon -- if you can beat the commercials there.
Buck Farm
President Harding or beach just below at Willie Taylor's grave
Nankoweap (duh!)
Carbon Creek (do carbon/lava hike)
Unkar
Rattlesnake Camp (just above Neville's RR)
Monument Creek (hot, must claim early)
Boucher (hike to cabin)
Bass Camp
Any between Elves and Blacktail (hike Blacktail)
Stone Creek (the beach was there last year, now??) Hike to upper falls
Directly across from Deer Creek
Poncho's Kitchen (patio) or Big Eddy Camp (ruins)
Kanab Creek (hot, snakes) Hike to whispering spring
Ledges (cause it's sorta neat - beware tie up)
National (the Dories are often there, might have fresh veges to trade)

Enough. It'll be crowded down there right now. You might try your best to
coordinate with the commercial boatmen, especially the rowing trips. They
might also steer you to good smaller camps and will have the latest scoop.

Have fun. And, uh, be careful at Tanner. It's a real rapid now.
