I'll be out of pocket for about a week and a half, so if there are any
problems with the list or server, please let Kent Crispin know.

After reading the introductions that have been posted so far, I realized I
haven't provided the kind of information to the list others have. So...

I graduated high school in 1969 (we snickered all year), so that will give
you an idea of my age. I started river running on the Brazos in Texas
during the 60's, graduated to the Big Bend in the early 70's, and the Grand
Canyon in 1976. My wife, Carolyn (she's in a bunch of the pics on my
website), and I have concentrated our river running in Utah, Idaho, Oregon,
and, of course, Arizona. Besides enjoying the Grand Canyon (27 trips),
among my favorite runs are the Selway, Owyhee, Middle Fork of the Salmon,
Yampa, the Rogue, and both the Salt and Verde in Arizona. Our "canyon" boat
is a 16' Achilles rigged with an oversized dry box and drop bag instead of
thwarts. Our fun boat is a 14' Campways River Rider (the old 1982 tan
model). Like others on the list, I have commercial experience running
various moter rigs (from 37' slugs to snouts), but much prefer rowing rigs.
We enjoy side canyon hiking as much as the rapids, and like making camp
meals something special. I used to play really decent guitar (worked my way
through college in a country band), but haven't practiced regularly in
awhile. My singing is strongly mediocre.

My work schedule (read: real job) is strange this summer. It looks like
late August thru October will be my window of opportunity to make a trip
this year. I don't have any plans at all yet, so if anyone is looking for
another boat during that time period, I'm available. Incidentally, I live
in Tucson -- any other Tucsonans out there?

I think this list is getting interesting, don't you?
