Hello... I am a private boater looking for a trip down the Grand... I am a
47-year old male, a self-employed carpenter by trade, and have been a
commercial guide in western Washington for ten years. I have done the Canyon
four times (in '92, '93, '94, '96), taken my swim in Lava, and want to keep
going back! My qualifications are that I'm a very good guide, I know a lot of
campsites and side canyon hikes, and I make good coffee. I have a 14' Hyside
bucket boat with frame, cooler, drybox and cargo floors. Also, I have a very
good, large (i.e., the size required by the Park Service for the whole trip)
first aid kit, a 2-burner Primus stove and propane tank, and a number of
friends hereabouts who have done the Grand, in case you need more than one
boat and guide.
