Silver Grotto Accessiblity

On June 25 this year our group stopped to hike Shinimu at mile 29. The =
water level was 27000 cfs which created a deep pool right in front of the =
canyon. Several of us swam over but were unable to get up the first part =
of the climb even trying to boost each other up. I have a wonderful group =
photo from a 1988 trip up several layers. I remember the first part was =
tricky but*
It was disappointing to be stuck this time and was wondering if people who =
have been there have suggestions on how to get up and over the first part. =
Is there an alternate route, specialized gear, etc? that would make it =
easier for next time.
