-- How y'all are? As with any undertaking where 'ole number uno's name is on the line', having ALL members of a private GC trip present viable proof of trip/liability insurance would be mandatory. The mention (in the Elves' report) that the 'fine print' on the permits says that 'the permit holder is responsible' is a stark eye opener. Understand, I've never 'been there; done that' on the GC, but in other times/places, yes. The thought comes to mind, after reading the permit requirements listed in the NPS regulations. If a permit holder were to 'require' that all members of the float group take out specific insurance; could that be construed as violating any of the 'non commercial' restrictions? A trip permit holder (the head godzilla), knowing that none of the members of his 'pack' (float pack as opposed to U-boat pack) would stack $2000 chopper rides, et al, on his liable back, would certainly sleep a lot better. I sincerely hope/pray that Kurt fully recovers from his injuries: and you can have that laminated for your billfold/purse.
