Folks, we can't _make_ PAB members participate in the discussion. The
mailing list is our primary mechanism for considering and coming to
consensus on issues. We don't have the luxury of having conference calls
or coming together to meet.
If someone is going to participate, that means they _have_ to read the
list. There's no way around it.
If someone isn't reading the list on a regular basis, I'm not sure I want
to encourage them to vote. How can they make an informed decision? Of
course, I don't want to discourage them, either. But in order to
participate in a meaningful fashion, you have to invest some time in it.
Now, I just looked back and since I joined the list on November 20, there
have been 185 messages -- or about 13 a day. It's not unreasonable to ask
someone who wants to participate to keep up.
