are there any news from people who was at the ietf meeting in LA where
there may be also some gtld-mou and GP related matters discussed

it seems so that what ever the internet community is saying mr.magaziner
hase already made his decision wich way to go

are there any proposals what could hapen if mr.magaziner stay within his
direction ?

from the received comments a majorioty was for the direction proposed by
the iana/isoc/poc/core but mr.magaziner says not single one was changing
his mind

so if all the comments are not changing his mind that may be prove that
he DONT WANT to change his mind

in this case is there a posibility for the internet community to take
actions on its own

so is the internet community desciding what hapens or is it dictated by
politicians

there are still actions underway-mr.heath will meet in bruessel with the
european commision officials and such hearings like this congressional
are holded but if mr.magaziner stays hard within his "anti-internet"
positions what internet community could do ?

theoreticaly anybody can start a new domain naming system
by establishing new roots where people are refering too

would in the wrongest case scenario-if magaziner/DOC stays hard in the
intent to "badly control" something wich is not easy to control
the internet community take its own ways and action to proceed ?

is there a chance that core system could go online in some point of time
without the "aproval" of the DOC

mr.crispin i repietedly like to sugest to establish contacts to the office
of the vice president al gore and try to inform him about our vuews and
concerns

i am not shure if mr.clinton knows exactly what his "advisor"
mr.magaziner is doing and proposing and what the consequences of this
doing could be-it could goes so far that the net could split into a
us-government dominated part and non us government dominated parts
exactly the oposite they wanted to reach with the "stable and safe
transition period"

i sugest we should loby the office of the vicepresident

his phone number is

+ 202-456-2326

there are frendly officers who would guid you to the right person
who is inchargt with the internet matters for the vice president

we should establish contacts to his closest advisors

so could be done also with mr.gingrich if this could help to educate the
politicians what is going on and where it leads

thank you
sascha

ps.unfortunately i have not inaf money to call there from hier at vienna
so i request you humbly mr.crispin to take this kind of action if you
consider it useful-and i am shure if it is done in a natural way it
could not harm anything and could help to educate direct people
who are closed to the vice president or even direct the vice president
who than can lobying the president-if mr.magaziner is the only
advisory resource for the internet policy of the us government
than i see no good things comming up
