Dear PABers:

I think we are at long last ready to vote.

I totally endorse the extension of time which was recommended by
Antony.

I truly hope that everyone who wants to be a part of the selection
process can now be reached by this List. I hope you will *all* vote
for our new officers.

There were some nominations received *after* the 5th of December,
which was the earlier date for voting. It seems proper that all of
these should be included in the ballot. You will be able to find the
list of nominees and election statements and biographies at the
following site:

http://www.pab.gtld-mou.org/election97/

There remains the question of whether it is possible for a person to
hold an elected office and also be designated as a PAB Member of POC.
Since we have not established a full Charter and since Antony's
"organisational" charter does not address this issue, I see no reason
why the ballot should not include some of the same names for officers
and POC Members. If, at a later date, a Charter is drafted which
addresses this issue, I would think we should be able to sort out any
differences which the present action creates.

Here's for a good election with lots of participation. :-)

Warmest regards to all of you,
Bob Connelly
Ultra lame duck Secretary.
