Commercial clients do get "the talk." Typically issued at Lee's or the
first day's lunch spot by the trip leader...who is supposed to share
info outlined by the park service and the company.
As you observed, A guide and his swamp on a motor trip vs the 28 or so
passengers is hardly a fair match..for them, as well as some of the
places they choose to descend upon-camps and sites. I often wonder if
this kind of motor trip does more or less damage than two privates (the
average size of private trips being 14). I suspect that the variable is
not ignorance of good practice, but individual (private and commercial
both) carelessness.
Your observation suggests either limits on guide/guest ratio or certain
locals being "off limits or controlled access" to large groups (have you
ever tried to "park" when there are multiple motor trips at the same
"attraction" Neither of these actions would go down very well with
commercial owners and some guides, but other commercial guides might
actually be relieved by not having to fight for a parking place..
