The Body of an unidentified male was removed from the Colorado River at
river mile 118 on the afternoon of Oct 2, 1997, the 21st day since a flash
flood
near river mile 88 swept away a couple from New Orleans, Louisiana.

The New Orleans man had been hiking in Phantom Creek with his wife and
brother-in-law, John McCue on September 11th, when a chest high wall of
water came down the drainage. The body of Patty Moran was located at river
mile 133 on September 11. John McCue was carried downstream approximately
one-half mile before he was able to get to shore safely and report the
incident.
