The missed point here is, if privates have to make that much of a sacrifice
(and I love the place, so I sacrifice income to get there often), why don't
commercial customers? Are we only "worthy" if we do make those sacrifices to
go? There will still be difficulties no matter how the access issue is
resolved, but should it be nearly impossible? Chances are a revamped system
will mean I go LESS than I do now (have boat, will row), but that sacrifice
would be worth it for the sake of fairness.

More privates=more impact due to carelessness is sheer conjecture. Earl
Perry, ex-river ranger says there was no difference in impact between
privates & commercials (and very little impact by any river runners) during
his Dinosaur tenure.
